Pastor

Reverend Gary Sowell answered his call to full time ministry in 2015. He completed his Course of Study and Advanced COS through Duke Divinity and United Theological Seminary in 2022. In October 2023, he was ordained as an Elder in the Global Methodist Church. Pastor Gary served at Broad Street Church of Mooresville 2019-2021 and returned in 2023. He has a passion for people and building relationships with those he encounters. Pastor Gary believes in the saving grace offered through the shed blood of Jesus Christ that must be shared with others. Central to his life in Christ, is serving others and living out his call to make disciples of those he encounters. Pastor Gary lives in Concord, NC with his wife Angela. They have two children, Lainie and Addison, and their three "fur babies", Belle, Boomer and Loki.

Music Director

Marla Young received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education and Bible at Piedmont Bible College. She has done post graduate work at Southwestern Theological Seminary and Anderson University. She has been a private piano teacher and a private and public school teacher, currently serving as chorus teacher in the Mooresville Graded School District. She also serves as accompanist for the Community Singers of Lake Norman. She served several seasons as a teaching artist for Children's Theatre of Charlotte. She and her husband, Steve, have one daughter, Anna.

Worship Leader

Steve Young received his music and business education at UNC Charlotte and has been an entrepreneur most of his career. He is the owner and operator of Coddle Creek Farms. He has studied voice even past college and in addition to his full time work. He is a company member of Opera Carolina in Charlotte, and has sung with Carolina Voices, VOX, and currently with the Community Singers of Lake Norman. He has also acted in summer musical theatre at CPCC.
